HEXAGONAL TYPE 

Self-Initiated




A hexagonal-based typeface inspired by nets in the physical form as well as metaphorically in the context of networks and connectivity. The letterforms work together to create tight nets that alternate between legibility and abstract patterns. The degree of movement of the letters in each consecutive line determines the overall texture of the letter combination, enabling a myriad of textual compositions for each word.

These typographic compositions resemble references from nature, such as bee hives, chemical compounds, and webs. In order to enhance this organic nature, typographical arrangements were printed on chemical paper using sun exposure. The natural elements of wind, clouds, and time result in a spectrum of clarity that brings forth connotations of living networks and movement.
