TYPEJULY

The results of TypeJuly, a platform for graphic and typographic design. The course titled 'Modular Typefaces as a Design Tool' and led by Manuel Krebs (Norm), focused on the consideration and development of modular fonts and their potential to enhance graphic design. During the course, we learned about the dynamic nature of letterforms and how modularity can be introduced in unique and expressive ways. 

We were given three randomly selected letters in a particular order and had to design a modular typeface that considered this combination's shape and characteristics.The exercise also involved placing the degree of change on a spectrum and seeing how far in each direction one can go before losing legibility. I explored many directions in these letters' capacity to change and, in the end, used a mechanism of expanding and descending angles to express their modularity.

The final compositions were published in a small publication exhibiting the group's outcomes.
